Data Cabling Engineers
Structured Cabling & Fibre Optic Services
Report to: Operations Coordinator
Location: Inverness
Hour: 40 hours / week

The Future Group Highland Limited is a multi-disciplinary infrastructure and communications contractor based at 60 Seafield Road, Inverness. We deliver structured cabling, fibre optic services, audio visual, networking and connectivity solutions across the Highlands and beyond, alongside our civils and asbestos services divisions.
Role Summary
We are looking for a motivated Data Cabling Engineer to join our Structured Cabling and Fibre Optic Services team. You will install, test, and maintain structured cabling and fibre infrastructure across a range of commercial, industrial and public-sector sites, working as part of a skilled team delivering high-quality connectivity solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate and test copper and fibre optic cabling systems (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a, OM/OS fibre) in line with industry standards.
- Read and work from technical drawings, schematics and cabling schedules.
- Carry out first- and second-fix cabling works, containment installation, and patching.
- Test and certify installations using standard industry test equipment, producing accurate certification and documentation.
- Work safely and in compliance with site-specific health & safety requirements, method statements and risk assessments.
- Liaise professionally with site staff, clients and other trades.
- Support the wider team on audio visual, networking and connectivity installations as required.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment to a good standard.

What We Are Looking For
- Experience in structured cabling installation, or a strong willingness to learn (training provided).
- A methodical, safety-conscious approach to work.
- Good communication skills and a professional manner on client sites.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Relevant cabling qualifications (e.g. City & Guilds, CNet, BICSI) desirable but not essential.
- Willingness to work across Highland-area sites, with occasional travel further afield including overseas.

Hours & Pay
- 40 hours per week.
- Hourly rate dependent on experience.
