Data Center BMS/EPMS Controls Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Data Center BMS/EPMS Controls Engineer to support the deployment, operation, optimization, and standardization of automation and monitoring systems across our overseas data center portfolio.
The successful candidate will work closely with local Facility Managers, Facility Engineers, vendors, and cross-functional teams to improve the reliability of BMS, EPMS, EMS, alarm management, and infrastructure control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the reliability and data integrity of BMS/EPMS operational data integration across overseas data centers.
- Coordinate local Facility Managers and Facility Engineers to create, validate, and continuously maintain CMDB topology diagrams.
- Lead the review, mapping, integration, governance, and optimization of EMS monitoring points.
- Develop and implement alarm rationalization strategies to reduce false, duplicate, and unnecessary alarms.
- Coordinate EOP integration, automation response strategies, and emergency procedure drills with local teams.
- Assess technical optimization opportunities within data center control systems and develop standardized solutions for recurring issues.
- Conduct control-system risk assessments, technical change reviews, maintenance verification, operational optimization assessments, and global site inspections.
- Support the deployment of key automation and control technologies across global data center sites.
- Supervise vendor activities involving system changes, installation, configuration, commissioning, testing, and optimization.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to BMS, EPMS, EMS, communication networks, control logic, alarms, and field devices.
- Develop technical standards, operating procedures, monitoring-point specifications, topology standards, and training materials.
- Provide technical training and capability development for local FM/FE teams.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- At least five years of relevant professional experience, including three or more years in data center operations, controls engineering, infrastructure engineering, or quality engineering.
- Hands-on experience with data center BMS, EPMS, EMS, SCADA, or critical infrastructure control systems.
- Strong understanding of control-system architecture, operating logic, alarm strategies, and logic optimization.
- Familiarity with data center electrical, mechanical, cooling, and environmental monitoring systems.
- Knowledge of communication protocols such as Modbus, BACnet, SNMP, and MQTT.
- Experience in system deployment, integration, commissioning, testing, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Experience with Python, Shell, or other scripting and automation tools is preferred.
- Strong analytical, risk-assessment, documentation, and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional proficiency in both Chinese and English, with the ability to conduct overseas technical discussions and prepare technical documentation independently.
- Strong cross-functional and cross-cultural communication skills, with the ability to coordinate local teams and external vendors.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally according to project and operational requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with Vertiv, Schneider Electric, Siemens, Eaton, Delta Electronics, or other data center infrastructure and controls providers.
- Experience supporting large-scale hyperscale, cloud, colocation, or internet data center environments.
- Experience with CMDB topology management, alarm rationalization, EOP integration, monitoring-point governance, and control-system standardization.
- Experience managing vendors and supervising onsite system changes in live critical environments.
