Data Center & Network Security Engineer
Location: London
Mostly remote; occasionally to London office
Role Overview
We are seeking an expert-level Data Center & Network Security Engineer to lead the deployment, implementation, and optimization of our core network infrastructure. In this role, you will be the hands-on technical responsible for building and maintaining robust Cisco Data Center fabrics (Nexus & Catalyst), enterprise Wireless networks, and robust perimeter security using FortiGate firewalls. This is a implementation and deployment-focused role requiring a seasoned professional who can hit the ground running.

Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Deployment: Lead the end-to-end staging, deployment, and configuration of Data Center network topologies using Cisco Nexus (9K/7K/5K) and core enterprise Cisco Catalyst switches.
- Core Network Engineering: Implement and optimize complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 environments utilizing advanced routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and high-availability campus architectures.
- Network Security Implementation: Serve as the hands-on deployment expert for network security, configuring and managing FortiGate Firewalls, high-availability clusters, policy frameworks, and secure VPN topologies.
- Wireless Architecture Deployment: Own the hands-on implementation, site-survey translation, tuning, and management of enterprise-grade Wireless (Wi-Fi) networks and wireless controllers.
- Application Delivery: Apply fair operational knowledge of Load Balancers (e.g., F5 BIG-IP, Citrix ADC) to ensure traffic distribution, application availability, and seamless integration with the data center fabric.
- Escalation & Migration: Act as the final technical authority for complex network migrations, infrastructure cutovers, and high-tier troubleshooting during deployment phases.

Technical Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Expert-level experience in enterprise Routing & Switching and Data Center engineering.
- Cisco Architecture (Expert): Deep, hands-on deployment expertise in Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switching environments.
- Firewall Engineering (Advanced): Hands-on implementation experience specifically with FortiGate Firewalls (FortiOS, policy creation, UTM, routing over firewalls).
- Wireless Network Engineering: Hands-on deployment experience in enterprise Wireless networks.
- Load Balancers: Fair knowledge and basic implementation/configuration familiarity with Load Balancers to support data center application delivery.
- Certifications (Preferred): Active CCNP / CCIE (Enterprise or Data Center) and NSE 4 / 7 (Fortinet Certified Professional/Expert) are highly advantageous.
