The Role
We're looking for a skilled Data Center Technician in Hampshire, United Kingdom to provide on-site technical support at local data center facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Remote Hands & Smart Hands support (cabling, power cycling, hardware swaps)
- Server rack installation and decommissioning
- Cross-connect and patch panel management
- Hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Visual inspections and inventory audits
- Escort and access coordination for client visits
- Emergency response and on-call availability

Requirements
- Hands-on experience with data center infrastructure
- Knowledge of server hardware, networking, and cabling standards
- Reliable transportation and proximity to local data centers
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to lift 25kg+ equipment
- Flexible availability including weekends/holidays for urgent requests

Nice to Have
- Certifications: CompTIA Server+, Network+, CDCP, CCNA
- Experience at major DC providers (Equinix, Digital Realty, NTT, CyrusOne)
- Structured cabling expertise (fiber, Cat6, DAC)
- Data center or IT infrastructure experience
- Server hardware and networking knowledge
- Reliable and professional with strong communication
- Proximity to local data center facilities
- Flexible schedule for on-call/emergency work
