A Data Centre Electrical Shift Engineer is required in Hayes to maintain critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure within a 24/7 data centre environment.
All candidates should make sure to read the following job description and information carefully before applying.
You'll join a new shift engineering team ahead of the data centre becoming operational, working across critical power and cooling systems. The role includes required technical training, including HV training with the opportunity to become an appointed HV Authorised Person.
The Role
As The Data Centre Electrical Shift Engineer, You'll
- Complete planned and reactive maintenance across critical electrical and mechanical systems.
- Diagnose faults across LV distribution, switchgear, UPS systems, generators and lighting.
- Support HVAC, chilled water, CRAC/CRAH units, pumps and associated mechanical plant.
- Monitor BMS and EPMS platforms, responding appropriately to alarms and system events.
- Complete inspections, permits, isolations and accurate maintenance records and logbooks.
- Respond to breakdowns while protecting uptime and operational continuity.
- Undertake HV Authorised Person duties following training and formal appointment.

About You
To be successful as the Data Centre Electrical Shift Engineer, you'll have:
- A time-served electrical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
- City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant electrical discipline.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Strong electrical maintenance, fault-finding and reactive repair experience.
- Experience within a data centre or critical environment is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of mechanical plant and experience within shift-based operations.
- HV Authorised Person or Inspection & Testing qualifications would be advantageous.

- Overtime paid at 1.75x.
