Salary: £65,000 + Bonus + Benefits

The Opportunity

Nova Artes is working with a leading organisation within the data centre and mission-critical sector to recruit an experienced Data Centre Manager.

This is a senior site-based leadership position offering a £65,000 basic salary plus bonus, with responsibility for the safe, reliable and efficient operation of a critical data centre environment.

You will take ownership of the day-to-day operation of the facility, leading engineering and technical teams while maintaining exceptional standards across uptime, compliance, maintenance and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall operational management of the data centre
  • Lead, manage and develop engineering and facilities teams
  • Ensure maximum availability and resilience of critical infrastructure
  • Oversee planned and reactive maintenance
  • Manage specialist contractors and service providers
  • Manage critical works, change control and permit-to-work processes
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety and site procedures
  • Manage incidents, escalations and emergency response
  • Review RAMS, permits and safe systems of work
  • Monitor KPIs, SLAs and overall site performance
  • Support budgets, lifecycle planning and CAPEX/OPEX activity
  • Drive continuous improvement across engineering and operational processes
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders

Technical Environment

You Will Ideally Have Experience Across Critical Infrastructure Including

  • HV / LV systems
  • UPS systems
  • Generators and standby power
  • Switchgear and transformers
  • Chillers / CRAC / CRAH and critical cooling
  • BMS / EPMS
  • Fire detection and suppression
  • Building services and environmental monitoring

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have:

  • Previous management experience within a data centre, critical facility or mission-critical environment
  • Strong electrical and/or mechanical engineering knowledge
  • Experience leading engineering teams
  • A strong understanding of critical infrastructure and operational resilience
  • Experience managing PPM and reactive maintenance programmes
  • Contractor and supplier management experience
  • Strong Health & Safety and compliance knowledge
  • Experience managing critical incidents and high-risk works
  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder-management skills
