Lead Critical Infrastructure Operations in an Enterprise Data Centre

TGS is looking for a Data Centre Manager to take ownership of day-to-day telecoms cabling infrastructure support services within a live, enterprise-scale Data Centre environment supporting a highly regulated banking client.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, you will run BAU operations, Moves, Adds and Changes (MAC), and project delivery across one or more Data Centre and campus locations. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will combine deep technical knowledge of structured cabling and IT hardware with the operational management skills to lead onsite teams, coordinate third-party suppliers, and keep service delivery consistently on target.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing daily Data Centre operations across BAU support and project activity, to agreed SLAs
  • Planning, coordinating and supervising MAC activities in live environments
  • Overseeing installation, relocation and decommissioning of servers, racks, cabinets and PDUs
  • Managing copper and fibre cabling installation, testing, fault diagnosis and network patching to industry standards
  • Maintaining accurate asset records via enterprise Asset Management Systems and managing ticket queues through ITSM platforms
  • Supporting Change Management, ensuring all work is authorised, documented and completed successfully
  • Conducting technology room inspections, monitoring infrastructure health, investigating alarms and driving continuous improvement
  • Building strong relationships with customer stakeholders; managing third-party engineers and site access within secure environments
  • Leading and mentoring onsite technical teams, reviewing competency and providing leadership from project planning through to handover
  • Supporting 24/7 operational requirements with flexible working where required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
