About the Role

Data Centre Services (DCS) is responsible for the strategic leadership, operational governance, and control of Deutsche Bank’s global IT hosting portfolio, including data centres, technology rooms, and campus locations. DCS ensures resilient, secure, efficient, and compliant environments that support the Bank’s evolving technology needs, including AI, Private Cloud, and Ultra-Low Latency services.

This Senior Director-level position holds ultimate responsibility for the run operations and oversight of all live environments supported by DCS globally. This role manages all regional Service Operations & Governance leads to drive global consistency, operational excellence, and alignment with the bank’s Target Operating Model.

Furthermore, this role will act as the key operational bridge to the integration and transition functions to ensure the flawless and positive take-on of all newly built, commissioned, or migrated facilities into production operations.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • The single point of ultimate responsibility for day-to-day run operations, availability, performance, and governance of all live hosting environments globally.
  • Manage, mentor, and direct regional leads to ensure global operational processes, workflows, and standards are harmonised and strictly governed.
  • Partner with Integration and Operational Transition teams to manage the successful transition of control from build/vendors into standard run operations.
  • Establish robust governance frameworks for capacity, environmental controls, and regulatory compliance. Partner with Finance to manage operational expenditure (OpEx), budgets, and cost-efficiency opportunities.
  • Serve as the final internal escalation point for high-impact operational incidents (white-space and grey-space), coordinating rapid resolution and root-cause analysis.
  • Direct the global embedding of the TOM, oversee global vendor/landlord performance standards, support DCIM tool strategies, and drive initiatives aligned with the bank's global ESG and sustainability ambitions.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Experience in global data centre operations, with demonstrable experience in the Financial Services sector. Must have experience of global operations and supervisory responsibilities directing large, cross-regional teams.
  • Proven track record in transition management (facility integration/vendor insourcing) and managing diverse, matrixed regional teams.
  • Deep understanding of physical white-space operations and critical Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) grey-space infrastructure (UPS, cooling, PDU, generators, BMS).
  • Strong expertise implementing ITIL frameworks globally, and familiarity with Uptime and ANSI/TIA-942 principles, and High-level certifications such as CDCMP.
  • Strong familiarity with financial sector regulatory compliance and operational resilience expectations (e.g., GDPR, BaFin/MaRisk, FCA, Third-Party Risk Management).
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence senior global executives, regulatory bodies, and technical teams.
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs.
