Data Centre Technical Project Manager (MEP)

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Overview

An opportunity for an experienced Technical Project Manager with strong MEP expertise to support the delivery and operational readiness of a major AI Cluster Data Centre Expansion.

This role requires a technically credible project leader with experience in hyperscale data centres, mission critical environments, and high-density compute infrastructure. The successful candidate must be comfortable reviewing MEP designs, interpreting electrical single line diagrams, assessing redundancy strategies, validating commissioning outcomes, and challenging technical decisions throughout project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the technical delivery and operational readiness of AI cluster expansion projects from build through to handover.
  • Act as the key interface between construction, commissioning, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Provide MEP subject matter expertise across critical power, cooling, and supporting infrastructure systems.
  • Review and interpret MV/LV Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) and validate electrical distribution topologies from utility intake through to IT load.
  • Verify N, N+1, and 2N redundancy philosophies and ensure A/B path segregation is maintained throughout the electrical distribution architecture.
  • Support design reviews and identify potential single points of failure, maintenance isolation risks, and operational constraints.
  • Review commissioning procedures, energisation plans, and integrated systems testing activities.
  • Ensure all infrastructure is operationally ready for day one, including people, processes, suppliers, assets, and documentation.
  • Support design and construction activities with an operations-first and maintainability-focused mindset.
  • Oversee activities impacting live environments and minimise operational disruption.
  • Manage technical risks, dependencies, and issues, ensuring early visibility and effective resolution.
  • Drive project delivery across multiple contractors, vendors, and stakeholder groups.
  • Lead site acceptance activities, infrastructure handovers, and final sign-off processes.
  • Ensure all documentation, compliance requirements, as-built records, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Support the deployment of high-density AI compute environments and associated cooling technologies.
  • Drive resolution of technical, quality, equipment, and process-related issues.
  • Run project meetings, track milestones, and provide clear reporting to stakeholders.
  • Capture lessons learned and continuously improve project delivery and handover processes.
  • Handle multiple priorities while maintaining control of timelines, deliverables, and technical detail.
