Job Summary

Do you enjoy working independently, travelling and spending time outdoors? Kiwa CMT are looking for a Highways Data Collection Technician to join our team, carrying out highway asset surveys and structural testing works across the UK. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills while supporting the delivery of essential highways data collection services.

About The Role

  • Carry out highway asset data collection surveys, identifying, recording and updating inventories of street lighting, illuminated signs, bollards, traffic signals and other highway infrastructure.
  • Verify existing client asset inventories or create new records, capturing asset details, locations and component information using handheld data capture and GPS equipment.
  • Undertake non-destructive structural testing of lighting columns. Full training will be provided on Kiwa's specialist testing equipment.
  • Accurately record and upload survey and testing data to client systems.
  • Use and maintain equipment and company vehicles with all due care.
  • Build positive working relationships through regular communication with clients, colleagues and management.
  • Represent Kiwa CMT professionally whilst working on customer sites.
  • Travel to sites across the UK, including overnight stays where required.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Experience in a similar field-based role, such as highway assets, utilities, or infrastructure.
  • Hold a Full UK Valid driving license, as you will be using company vehicles to travel to and from client sites.
  • Able to manage a varied workload and work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away from home.
  • A proactive approach to health, safety and compliance, with a clear focus on working safely.
  • Good planning and organisational skills to deliver work on time and to a high standard.
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate reporting, record-keeping and site documentation.

Desirable Criteria (training Can Be Provided)

  • A recognised professional with experience in Highway Data Collection Surveys.
  • G39 Authorisation.
  • Valid ECS Card.

  • £31,992 - £35,055 per annum
  • Generous Annual Leave – Starting at 25 days plus Bank Holidays, with the option to buy additional leave and increased entitlement with length of service
  • 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday, field-based role with extensive UK travel.
