Role Overview
The Data Collection Test Technician is an integral part of the Product team and development team in testing, feeding back and reporting the test results of the X-ray scan that detects bombs, contraband and other security risks.
The candidate’s main responsibility is to plan and execute data collections and tests from our new prototype X-ray machines.
Responsibilities
- Duties include developing and managing test sets and test items to create data sets for both testing and development purposes.
- Conducting testing, which involves scanning test items and collecting detailed test records.
- Analyzing and curating test datasets and providing feedback to the algorithm development team. Over time they will familiarize themselves with regulatory and commercial requirements to better guide algorithm development.
- They will also act as a liaison between Rapiscan and regulatory testing agencies.
- Plan and execute data collections and tests to support algorithm development.
- Research regulatory and commercial requirements to guide algorithm development.
- Keep accurate records of testing, observations and results.
- Manage and maintain new and existing algorithm data sets and test material inventory.
- Act as liaison between regulatory agencies for certification testing.

- It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or minimum 2 years of relevant employment.
- Travel (typically up to 10-20%) domestically and internationally.
- Able to work independently.
- Analytical mind and ability to identify trends in data.
- Ability to pay attention to detail with meticulous record keeping.
- This work will include lifting, moving and scanning bag sets so a reasonable level of physical fitness will be required.
- In addition to the required qualifications ideally candidates would have knowledge of testing methodologies, analysis methods and statistics.
- Experience working with regulatory test bodies is an advantage.

Desirable
- Experience or knowledge of munitions, weapons and explosives would be beneficial though this is not mandatory.
- Training will be provided.
