A leading Independent IT Infrastructure and Services Consultancy are looking for an experienced Data Consultant / Data Warehouse Developer to provide full-time support across BAU operations, performance optimisation, and data warehouse development within an NHS Trust environment.

Bradford based client (Remote role)
3-month contract initially
Inside IR35

This role requires a proactive problem solver who can balance technical delivery with stakeholder engagement and coordination across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain SQL Server data warehouse and data integration solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve SQL Server performance issues, failed jobs, blocking, long-running queries, and data pipeline problems.
  • Develop and maintain SSIS packages and SQL-based ETL processes.
  • Support NHS national data submissions and ensure data quality and reporting accuracy.
  • Gather and document business requirements, data flows, and legacy data architecture.
  • Lead stakeholder discussions, data impact assessments, and coordinate work across clinical, EPR, BI, and technical teams.
  • Support Agile delivery, including daily stand-ups and Azure DevOps task management.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Advanced SQL Server development and T-SQL.
  • Strong SQL Server DBA skills, particularly performance troubleshooting and diagnostics.
  • SSIS development and support.
  • Experience working with legacy data warehouse architectures.
  • Requirements gathering and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps for work tracking.

Highly Desirable

  • Previous experience within an NHS Acute Trust.
  • Strong understanding of NHS data flows, national submissions, and NHS data standards/dictionaries.
  • Experience coordinating multiple workstreams, technical teams, and project activities.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex healthcare reporting and operational processes.

The successful contractor will combine strong SQL Server and data warehouse expertise with excellent stakeholder engagement and coordination skills, enabling them to quickly become an effective member of the Trust's data team.
