Your new company

You will be working for a secure client delivering data engineering capability in a highly regulated environment. The client's identity will remain confidential at this stage.

The position

The position requires previous experience of MOD, Defence or secure government data engineering environments involving different security classifications.

Your new role

As Senior Data Consultant, you will lead the delivery of secure data ingestion and integration pipelines, translating the Data Architect's designs into working technical capability.

This is a technical leadership position combining hands-on delivery oversight, pipeline implementation, test coordination, assurance support and service handover. You will lead day-to-day technical delivery and provide direction and mentoring to Data Engineers.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the build, testing, assurance, deployment and handover of secure data pipelines into an AWS data lake.
  • Translate architectural designs into implementation plans, work packages and practical technical delivery approaches.
  • Lead API-based, file-based, legacy and bespoke integrations using Apache NiFi and AWS services.
  • Manage the onboarding of source systems, including interface analysis, data mapping, transformation rules and security considerations.
  • Define and coordinate unit, integration, performance, security and operational acceptance testing.
  • Lead defect triage, manage technical risks and resolve complex integration issues.
  • Ensure pipeline solutions include monitoring, logging, alerting, error handling, retry logic and appropriate operational support procedures.
  • Coordinate evidence for assurance and accreditation activities with cyber security teams and design authorities.
  • Produce technical documentation, runbooks, release notes and service handover materials.
  • Mentor and direct Data Engineers, maintaining technical quality and delivery discipline.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
