About Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust (EHAAT)
Essex & Herts Air Ambulance, unlike NHS emergency services, is a charity. The free life-saving service is provided 24/7 by helicopters and rapid response vehicles.
Each critical care team consists of a pilot and co-pilot, a pre-hospital care doctor and a critical care paramedic.
They can be rushed to the scene with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care usually only available in a hospital emergency department.
Once stabilised, the patient will be conveyed to the most appropriate hospital by air or land.
Without access to National Lottery funding and with only limited support from Government, we rely upon the generosity and goodwill of the people and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational and keep saving lives... we can’t fly without you!
Job Purpose
You'll act as the organisation's Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO) while helping us define a clear roadmap for how data, digital and technology can better support our people.
This isn't a traditional IT leadership role. We already have good people, good systems and exciting projects underway. What we need is someone who can join the dots, bring structure, challenge current thinking, and help us build a modern, sustainable approach to digital and data across the organisation.
We are looking for an experienced and pragmatic Data & Digital Strategic Lead to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract and strengthen how we use data, technology and information across the organisation.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of digital and data capability within a successful and ambitious charity. Working across clinical operations, fundraising, support services and research, you'll help us establish strong foundations for governance, reporting, information management and digital maturity.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
