Data Engineer | Large Retailer | £68,000 | Manchester (Hybrid)

We're hiring a hands-on Data Engineer to join a high-profile data modernisation programme at one of the UK's most recognisable retail brands. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity to help build a modern data platform from the ground up, working with best-in-class tooling at pace and scale.

The Programme

You'll be joining a data modernisation initiative - Replatforming a legacy data and reporting estate onto a modern cloud stack (Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, Azure), retiring legacy MSSQL warehouses, and delivering across multiple international markets. Fast-paced, high-visibility, and high-impact.

The Role

Working as part of a collaborative engineering team and reporting to a Senior Data Engineer, you'll be hands-on in the day-to-day build of pipelines and data products that power analytics and reporting across the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
