Mid to Lead levels available
Up to £96 DoE plus package
Hybrid working – bases in Bristol, London, Manchester or Swansea

What will the Data Engineer be doing?
You’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining modern data platforms and pipelines, working closely with technical teams and clients to deliver reliable and scalable data solutions. The role will involve working across data ingestion, transformation and processing, using modern cloud technologies and engineering practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
- Developing data solutions using Python, SQL and cloud technologies
- Working with batch data processing and integrating data from multiple sources
- Building and working with data lakes, data warehouses and modern data platforms
- Cleaning, transforming and preparing data for downstream use
- Implementing automated testing and applying TDD principles where appropriate
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines, version control and automated deployments
- Using Terraform and infrastructure-as-code to support cloud environments
- Implementing logging, monitoring, access controls and other operational practices
- Working with clients and delivery teams to understand requirements and deliver effective data solutions

Key Skills and Requirements
- Commercial experience in a Data Engineering role
- Strong Python development skills with a good understanding of SQL
- Experience building data pipelines and working with ETL/ELT processes
- Experience working with AWS, Azure and/or GCP
- Understanding of data lakes, data warehouses and data architecture
- Experience with Git, CI/CD and software testing practices
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code, ideally Terraform
- Understanding of data security, access controls, monitoring and governance
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly
