Job Title: Data Engineer

Location: Remote, UK
Contract Duration: 12 Months
Pay Rate: £47.50 per hour

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Data Engineer with strong expertise to help build, optimise, and stabilise a modern enterprise data platform. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges, investigating issues at source, and delivering robust, analytics-ready datasets. You will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to transform fragmented data into trusted, governed information assets using modern data engineering best practices and medallion architecture principles. The successful candidate will take ownership of end-to-end data pipelines, ensuring data reliability, quality, security, and performance across the entire data lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Architecture

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines.
  • Develop end-to-end data solutions covering ingestion, transformation, modelling, and data serving layers.
  • Implement and maintain Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) frameworks.
  • Create and optimise complex data transformations using SQL, Power Query, and related technologies.
  • Build scalable semantic models that support self-service analytics and reporting.
  • Ensure datasets are reliable, governed, and accessible for business users.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
