The Role
- Act as the technical lead for engineers working cross-functionally in an agile environment, serving as an expert capable of deep dives into component details and uplifting engineering maturity.
- Define and guide the technical architecture for complex, high-impact data products and platforms, bridging Data Engineering, Data Architecture, and wider Technology functions.
- Establish and uphold engineering and architectural patterns, coding standards, and best practices across multiple squads.
- Translate sophisticated business and technical requirements into scalable, cloud-native data solutions, creating frameworks for CI/CD pipelines and driving adoption of new technologies.
- Embed rigorous validation, profiling, reconciliation, and automated testing into all engineering work, leading monitoring and performance optimization for resilient data products.
- Partner with architects, product leaders, and senior stakeholders to shape roadmaps and platform direction, ensuring consistent approaches to key priorities.

What You'll Need
- Deep expertise in cloud data engineering, distributed processing, and enterprise-scale data architecture, with excellent cloud platform (GCP/AWS/Azure), Python/Node.js, and CI/CD experience.
- Master-level proficiency in SQL, with strong optimization and performance-tuning skills, and experience with coding standards and peer code reviews.
- Strong capability in designing scalable data models and semantic layers, skilled in advanced data profiling, anomaly detection, and statistical reasoning.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders, simplify complex concepts, and build strong cross-functional relationships.
- Expertise in data quality frameworks, governance standards, and secure handling of sensitive data, connecting engineering choices to long-term strategy and scalability.
- Deep understanding of business context within specific domains to shape value-driven engineering decisions, with excellent communication skills for explaining complex data principles.
