About The Role
We are collaborating with hackajob to connect talented professionals with an exciting opportunity as a Lead Data Engineer at AND Digital. In this role, you will be instrumental in deploying and maintaining robust data pipelines within large organizations, ensuring production-safe practices aligned with DataOps principles. You will work in a fast-paced, agile environment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver modern data platforms that enable data-driven decision-making and advanced data science applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in data engineering, cloud platforms, and data management tools, with a passion for translating stakeholder needs into reliable data products. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with hands-on experience in developing production-grade data pipelines
- Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with task orchestration tools such as dbt, Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster
- Extensive experience with Snowflake and Databricks platforms is preferred
- Practical knowledge of at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP) and related services such as DynamoDB, Redshift, Kinesis, Glue, Lambda, or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with DataOps practices, including CI/CD, version control, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
- Familiarity with data modeling approaches and data quality management
- Ability to adopt a Data Product mindset, ensuring datasets are discoverable, trustworthy, and self-describing
- Strong communication skills with the ability to bridge technical and business perspectives
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support decision-making and data science initiatives
- Implement best practices for data quality, flow, and organization across various data platforms
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deploy modern data solutions within large organizations
- Utilize SQL and orchestration tools to automate and optimize data workflows
- Manage cloud-based data infrastructure, ensuring security, compliance, and performance
- Adopt and promote DataOps principles, including CI/CD pipelines and version control
- Translate stakeholder requirements into robust data product specifications
- Ensure datasets are discoverable, trustworthy, and self-describing for downstream users
- Mentor and support junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
