Role
As a Data Engineer, you will take a leading role in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining robust, scalable data pipelines and solutions. You will tackle complex data challenges, working closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.

Crucially, this role involves actively contributing to the team's growth and fostering a collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment. You will mentor junior data engineers, champion best practices, and participate actively in pair programming and planning sessions to enhance collective skills and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Requirements
- Data Engineering: Strong proficiency in Python and at least one key programming language commonly used in data engineering (PySpark/SQL strongly preferred, Java/Scala beneficial)
- Data Modelling: Solid understanding and practical experience in designing and implementing effective data models (e.g., relational, dimensional) suitable for analytical and operational use cases
- ETL/ELT Development: Deep understanding of ETL/ELT principles, patterns, and best practices for building robust data integration solutions
- Large-Scale Data Handling: Experience working with large, complex datasets and understanding distributed data processing concepts
- Problem Solving: Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with a proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment and write high quality documentation
- Mentorship Aptitude: Demonstrable experience or a strong, genuine interest in mentoring junior colleagues, sharing knowledge, and fostering a supportive team culture. Experience with or enthusiasm for pair programming is essential
- Version Control: Proficiency with Git for code management and collaboration
- Demonstrable experience showing autonomy, influence, complexity management, strong business skills, and deep knowledge in data engineering
- Minimum security clearance: SC preferred but can sponsor
- Nationality caveats for Security requirements: Sole British Citizen
