Data Engineer (Azure, Databricks, Terraform)

Contract: Initial 3 months (strong likelihood of a 6 month extension if all goes well)

Outside IR35

Day rate: £450 - £500/day

Location: Remote (occasional visits to Leeds office)

We're working with a financial services business in the middle of a major Databricks migration, moving off a legacy stack and building out a modern, cloud-native data platform. It's a meaty piece of transformation work and they need two strong Data Engineers to come in and help drive it forward.

This is a genuinely hands-on role. You'll be building out data pipelines and the Databricks environment itself, embedding good engineering practice across the team, and working shoulder to shoulder with delivery squads as the wider transformation takes shape. If you like being close to the architecture decisions and the day-to-day delivery rhythm, this one's worth a proper look.

Outside IR35, remote first, and paying £450 to £500 a day depending on experience. Initial three month contract with a strong steer towards a six month engagement for the right people. The start date is the beginning of September, so we're moving quickly on this one.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
