Data Engineer (Python / SQL)
Oxford – site based

Excellent opportunity for a Data Engineer looking to join a highly successful, global organisation where you will play a key role in developing the data infrastructure and systems used to drive business improvement and operational performance.

In this varied role, you will design, build and maintain data solutions that create a reliable Single Source of Truth across the business. You will work with Python, SQL and modern data architecture principles to integrate multiple data sources, improve data quality and ensure information is readily available for analytics and reporting.

Alongside the core data engineering work, you will develop automated workflows, applications and dashboards, working closely with analysts and wider business teams to translate operational requirements into effective technical solutions. You will also help establish and maintain data architecture standards across the organisation.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in Data Engineering or a similar position
- Strong Python and SQL skills
- Experience building and maintaining databases and data pipelines
- Experience with SQLAlchemy, data modelling, workflow automation, dashboards, or platforms such as Skywise would be advantageous

The Role:
- Build and maintain a robust Single Source of Truth across multiple business applications
- Develop and optimise data pipelines, workflows and integrations
- Use Python, SQL and SQLAlchemy for data processing, modelling and database interaction
- Develop automated workflows, applications and dashboards
- Ensure data quality, integrity and availability for analytics and reporting
- Work with analysts and wider business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
The Person:
- Data Engineer or similar data-focused background
- Strong Python and SQL skills
- Experience with databases, data modelling and data pipelines
- Understanding of modern data architecture principles
- Experience with automation, workflows or dashboard development beneficial
- Skywise or Google AppSheet experience advantageous
