Data Engineer (SC Clearance)

Location: Telford (2 days/week in the office)

Clearance: Active SC Clearance

Inside IR35: Umbrella rate £500.00

We are working with a client who is hiring a Data Engineer for a contract opportunity starting soon. If you already hold SC clearance, this is a great chance to apply your data engineering skills in a role where your work will directly support reliable data delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support end-to-end data engineering work across data pipelines and processing
  • Work on projects involving transformation and integration of data
  • Use SQL and Unix to query, manipulate, and validate data
  • Assist with engineering tasks that improve reliability and accuracy of outputs
  • Learn from the team, ask questions, and contribute to problem-solving as requirements evolve

What You'll Bring

  • Experience across data engineering projects with a solid grasp of general data engineering concepts
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and Unix
  • Ideally, experience with one or more of the following: Bash scripting, GitLab, Pentaho DI, Berlin JobScheduler, AWS
  • Willingness to learn, get involved, and grow with the role
  • A good work ethic with strong problem-solving ability
  • High attention to detail, plus clear spoken and written English communication
  • Good listening skills—able to take onboard feedback and clarify needs early
