About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Platform Engineer to lead the design and development of cross-product data services across multiple product lines. This role involves establishing a governed data plane that ensures consistency, reliability, and security of data assets used internally and by customers. The successful candidate will define the customer data model, including canonical identifiers, shared dimensions, and consistent facts, to facilitate seamless data integration across various platforms. You will be responsible for building scalable ingestion pipelines for batch, streaming, and event-driven data, ensuring repeatable onboarding processes for new data sources. Additionally, you will own the operational aspects of data reliability, including data contracts, quality checks, lineage, monitoring, and incident response. The role also involves implementing accessible data interfaces such as curated datasets, secure query endpoints, and APIs, along with productizing customer-facing data assets with clear documentation, versioning, and ownership. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data models are optimized for both operational systems and analytics environments, supporting machine learning workflows and AI automation initiatives. The role requires a collaborative approach, partnering with product, engineering, and security stakeholders to align data solutions with strategic roadmaps and customer outcomes. You will also contribute to raising the technical standards through architecture reviews, adherence to best practices, and mentorship, while maintaining hands-on involvement in core systems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
