Data Engineering Manager – Microsoft Fabric

Location: London area – Hybrid, 2 days from office
Contract: 6 months+ extension
Rate: up to £650/day, Outside IR35

We are working with our client, based in the London area, who are looking for an experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead the data engineering function and delivery of a modern cloud data platform.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of Data Engineers.
  • Own delivery of data engineering projects and platform improvements.
  • Oversee data pipelines, integrations, testing, and deployment.
  • Drive Microsoft Fabric / Azure data platform adoption.
  • Ensure platform performance, reliability, and operational support.
  • Implement data quality, governance, and monitoring practices.
  • Drive Agile, DataOps, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
  • Work closely with Data, Analytics, Architecture, and business teams.
  • Manage technical standards, delivery priorities, and continuous improvement.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong experience in Data Engineering / Data Platforms.
  • Experience managing or leading Data Engineering teams.
  • Strong Microsoft Azure data platform experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or Databricks.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills.
  • ETL/ELT and data pipeline development.
  • CI/CD and DevOps experience.
  • Data platform monitoring, operations, and support.
  • Strong stakeholder and delivery management skills.
