Data Analytics Engineer
6 months contract outside IR35
£500 - £600 per day
Remote
Stanton House is currently supporting a private equity-backed financial services organisation that is seeking an Analytics Engineer to join on an initial 6-month contract. Having recently invested in its data capabilities, the business is looking to bring ownership of its data platform in-house and establish the foundations for a scalable, reliable, and commercially focused data function.
Overview:
Working closely with operational and technology stakeholders, you will sit at the intersection of business and data, helping the organisation improve the quality, consistency, and accessibility of its key management information. The role is focused on building trusted data foundations. You will be responsible for defining core business metrics, investigating and resolving data-quality issues, improving reporting processes, and ensuring senior leadership can rely on accurate and timely information for decision-making. This requires someone who can engage confidently with senior stakeholders, challenge assumptions, and translate reporting requirements into practical data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain data models within a modern cloud data warehouse environment.
- Establish consistent business definitions and trusted reporting standards.
- Investigate and resolve complex data-quality and reconciliation issues.
- Design and optimise data ingestion processes from multiple source systems.
- Build and enhance management information reporting for senior leadership.
- Support point-in-time and historical reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting and spreadsheet-based processes.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into scalable data solutions.
- Help define data governance, controls, and best practices as the data function matures.

Required Experience:
- Hands-on expertise with Snowflake.
- Advanced SQL and data warehousing experience.
- Experience with Alteryx
- Proven track record investigating, validating, and improving data quality.
- Experience integrating and consolidating data from multiple systems and sources.
- Ability to build reporting and management information that supports business decision-making.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work directly with senior business leaders.
- Comfortable operating in a greenfield environment with a high degree of autonomy.
