About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious Data Engineer who will play a crucial role in helping us design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data processing, storage, and accessibility. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on industry-leading best practices in data engineering while gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies in cloud environments. You will have opportunities to work on bespoke customer deliveries as well as our Seriös ONE suite of data platform products.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, build and maintain scalable, secure and reliable data pipelines and data platforms.
- Implement data engineering best practices, ensuring data integrity, quality, governance and security.
- Develop and maintain data models using Data Vault and Kimball methodologies to support analytical and operational use cases.
- Build solutions using structured and unstructured data sources, transforming data into trusted business assets.
- Design, develop, test and deploy high-quality Python and SQL solutions using modern software engineering practices.
- Contribute to CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring and DataOps practices to improve delivery quality and efficiency.
- Optimise data storage, processing and retrieval solutions for performance, scalability and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Contribute to solution design, technical decision making and continuous improvement of engineering standards and delivery frameworks.
- Support data migration, integration and modernisation initiatives across a range of cloud platforms.
- Mentor and support junior team members through peer reviews, knowledge sharing and technical guidance.
- Evaluate and contribute to the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled data engineering capabilities.

Experience We’re Looking For
- Experience in a data engineering role within a cloud-based environment.
- Proven experience designing, building and supporting production data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions.
- Strong Python and SQL skills, including developing reusable and maintainable solutions.
- Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks or Snowflake.
- Strong understanding and practical application of Data Vault and Kimball modelling methodologies.
- Experience working with APIs, data integration patterns and large-scale data processing.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control and DevOps/DataOps practices.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform is desirable.
- Understanding of data governance, data quality, security and compliance best practices.
- Experience working directly with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers or supporting peer review activities would be advantageous.
