About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious Data Engineer who will play a crucial role in helping us design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines and infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data processing, storage, and accessibility. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on industry-leading best practices in data engineering while gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies in cloud environments. You will have opportunities to work on bespoke customer deliveries as well as our Seriös ONE suite of data platform products.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design, build and maintain scalable, secure and reliable data pipelines and data platforms.
  • Implement data engineering best practices, ensuring data integrity, quality, governance and security.
  • Develop and maintain data models using Data Vault and Kimball methodologies to support analytical and operational use cases.
  • Build solutions using structured and unstructured data sources, transforming data into trusted business assets.
  • Design, develop, test and deploy high-quality Python and SQL solutions using modern software engineering practices.
  • Contribute to CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring and DataOps practices to improve delivery quality and efficiency.
  • Optimise data storage, processing and retrieval solutions for performance, scalability and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Contribute to solution design, technical decision making and continuous improvement of engineering standards and delivery frameworks.
  • Support data migration, integration and modernisation initiatives across a range of cloud platforms.
  • Mentor and support junior team members through peer reviews, knowledge sharing and technical guidance.
  • Evaluate and contribute to the adoption of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled data engineering capabilities.

Experience We’re Looking For

  • Experience in a data engineering role within a cloud-based environment.
  • Proven experience designing, building and supporting production data pipelines and ETL/ELT solutions.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills, including developing reusable and maintainable solutions.
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks or Snowflake.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of Data Vault and Kimball modelling methodologies.
  • Experience working with APIs, data integration patterns and large-scale data processing.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control and DevOps/DataOps practices.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform is desirable.
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, security and compliance best practices.
  • Experience working directly with stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data solutions.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers or supporting peer review activities would be advantageous.
