The Data Engineer will be a part of the BI Team, specifically the Data Engineering Team. The DE Team are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure platforms. We transform raw data into the building blocks of meaningful analytics and insights that RinP use for decision-making. DE Team tasks include developing data models, maintaining data pipelines, implementing data storage solutions, and ensuring data accuracy.
This is not intended to be an exhaustive list and as such you will be expected to carry out any other duties that may be specified by your Line Manager from time to time. This job description is non-contractual.

Must be able to travel to the Liverpool office ONCE a week.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Dataset Creation
- Working with specific criteria from Operations or Analyst teams to source the correct data, build cohesive datasets and create measures and KPIs as a “single source of truth” for reporting.
- To research the internal and external reporting requirements of existing and newly awarded contracts by proactively determining the information needs of key stakeholders including Operations and Supply Chain Management and how this needs to be structured in the database.
Best Practice and Support
- Applying and documenting best practices to provide clean, transformed datasets across the team.
- Supporting other teams with Snowflake / PBI models and knowledge sharing.
Collaboration
- Working with other team members to ensure efficient data workflows, accurate reporting figures, and insights deliveries.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Technical Skills
- Understanding of ETL / ELT processes
- Understanding and experience with DDL / DML
- Query optimisation and performance tuning
- Proficiency in SQL and DAX (Python would be desirable)
- Star schema data modelling
- Power BI
- Experience with or knowledge of:
- Azure Data Warehouse
- Snowflake
- MS Power Platform – Power Apps / Power Automate
- GitHub

- Strong coding skills in Power BI with Evidence of DAX & Power Query, SQL
- Strong Modelling skill with evidence Implementing Kimball Modelling
- Strong Visualisation skills with evidence of an array of visualisations
- Strong Design Skills with evidence of clear engaging story telling
