Data Engineer - Retail / Fashion / e-commerce
Synchro have partnered with a long term client and well-known, boutique fashion retail brand to recruit a Data Engineer to lead the evolution of an existing data platform.
This role requires an experienced Data Engineer who enjoys working across teams to influence strategy, design scalable data architecture and use AI to redefine how modern data teams operate.
- Role Summary
- Location: Clapham, South West London - with hybrid remote working as detailed above
- Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 plus benefits

You will be experienced in data platform architecture, customer insight, machine learning and commercial strategy.
- Broad technical skillset
- Advanced SQL and data modelling skills
- Solid hands-on experience with dbt
- Experience with modern cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery
- Experience with BI platforms including Power BI, Looker, Qlik, Preset or Superset
- Ideally, you will have prior experience within ecommerce, retail or fashion

Due to the nature of this role and this organization, you will have strong stakeholder management experience and have the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
Any experience with using Python (or another programming language) alongside SQL is highly desirable, as is practical experience using AI-assisted development tools.
This role will be based in Clapham, South West London and offers hybrid remote working, with the expectation to be in the office 2/3 days per week.
