Data Engineer (Belfast)
Build the data foundations that power analytics, reporting and better business decisions.
We’re recruiting a Data Engineer for a global financial services business specialising in fund administration and corporate services. Joining its Data & Analytics function, you’ll design, build and maintain reliable data pipelines and infrastructure, working closely with Power BI analysts, data scientists and business stakeholders.
The role offers exposure to Microsoft Fabric, varied data sources and the full journey from ingestion through to trusted, usable datasets.
What you’ll do
- Develop ETL and ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Build and maintain data warehouses and data lakes.
- Deploy and manage data solutions in Microsoft Fabric.
- Improve database performance, storage and data availability.
- Develop dimensional models, including star and snowflake schemas.
- Embed data quality, governance, security and access controls.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions and support colleagues through documentation and knowledge sharing.

What you’ll bring
- At least three years’ experience in data engineering or a related role.
- Strong SQL, Python and database skills.
- Experience building ETL or ELT pipelines using tools such as dbt Cloud, Azure Data Factory or Fabric Pipelines.
- Hands-on cloud experience across Azure, AWS or GCP.
- Understanding of data warehousing and dimensional modelling.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with an understanding of financial data.
