Job Description: Data Engineer
We are seeking a Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and data integration to design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines and data solutions. The role will focus on ingesting data from internal systems and third-party platforms, including REST APIs, transforming and validating data, and delivering high-quality datasets for reporting, analytics, and operational use. This aligns with current SQL Server Data Engineer and integration-focused role patterns.
Working hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 08:00-16:30
- Friday: 08:00 – 13:30
At least two days per week will need to be spent in the office at Grantham, as this is important for team collaboration and hands-on involvement with projects. The role will not be fully remote, and while we do offer a hybrid option for this role, Grantham is the primary base.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
