Your Mission - should you choose to accept it:
As our new Data Engineer, you will join our centralized Business Intelligence team, delivering data solutions, analytics, and insights to our Operations, Commercial, Engine, and Games Development teams.
Your primary focus will be on owning and developing our financial planning and analysis systems, including the data architecture, automatic data sync across systems, reporting solutions, and forecasting models. Alongside this, you will work closely with our Technical Lead Data Engineer on the development and operation of our broader data infrastructure.
What you will do:
- Work with stakeholders to identify critical financial data and reporting needs and translate them into effective solutions.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and integrations across our financial systems, including Unit4, Prophix, and Visma.
- Develop and maintain core financial reporting tools, including Power BI reports, automated slides generators, and web apps.
- Manage and further develop Prophix, our financial planning tool, including maintenance and improvements of the budgeting, salary, short-term and long-term forecasting models, and implementation of tools and automations to facilitate data import and updates, reporting and controlling.
- Monthly technical and analytics support to the accounting, financial control, commercial, game management, and executive management teams on importing, updating, and validating actuals and forecasted financial figures in Prophix.
- Share responsibility for analytics DevOps with our Technical Lead Data Engineer, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and development of telemetry endpoints, servers, automations, and warehouses.
- Contribute to the ongoing migration of our data infrastructure from Azure and Microsoft Fabric into a new system.
- Contribute to data-as-a-service initiatives, enabling secure, governed AI connections to our datasets.
- As part of a small team, contribute to improving our data infrastructure, engineering practices, and the prioritization of tasks and projects.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Disclaimer: Although working on financial forecasting models is part of the responsibilities, this is not a machine learning position. Advanced predictive models could be of interest in the future, but they are not a priority now.
Who you are:

- Experienced in automating data processing and extracting data from REST APIs using Python, .NET, or similar technologies.
- Proficient in Power BI or comparable reporting tools. Experience with Azure data products (Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric) and Databricks is particularly valuable; other cloud platforms are also valued.
- Skilled in understanding business needs and translating them into reliable technical solutions, accessible reports and dashboards.
- An independent, proactive problem-solver with strong communication and collaboration skills, who takes ownership of development, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
- Flexible and able to work in environments where immediate priorities can change week to week.
- Qualified through a relevant university degree in data science, computer science, information systems, software engineering, finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
