Job Title: Data Engineer (Azure)
Long-Term Contract (Inside IR35)
Location: Sheffield-based hybrid
Visa: Only British/ILR
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize scalable Azure data platforms and ETL pipelines. You will develop reliable data solutions that support analytics, reporting, and cybersecurity use cases while working closely with engineering and security teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Azure-based ETL/ELT data pipelines.
- Build scalable data ingestion, transformation, and integration solutions.
- Develop data models, data warehouses, and reusable data assets.
- Implement batch and real-time data processing using Azure services.
- Automate deployments using CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
- Optimize data pipeline performance, reliability, and cloud costs.

Required Skills

- Strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, and Azure Storage.
- Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Spark, PowerShell/Bash, and ETL/ELT development.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of Kafka or Azure Event Hubs, data warehousing, and data modelling.
- Experience with Linux, monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus), and cloud infrastructure.
- Understanding of SIEM/SOAR or cybersecurity data engineering is an advantage.
