About the Role
An established professional services organisation is seeking a Data Engineer with experience in enterprise data platforms, data analysis, and data architecture to join its growing Data Services function. The successful candidate will support the delivery of a modern Reporting & Analytics programme by designing, developing, and maintaining an enterprise data platform.
The role focuses on building scalable data solutions, ensuring reliable data movement from operational systems into a Snowflake environment, and developing robust data models that underpin enterprise reporting and analytics. Working closely with business and technical stakeholders, you will help deliver high-quality, governed data that supports strategic decision-making.
As part of a wider business transformation programme, you will contribute to the delivery of a modern reporting and analytics ecosystem built on strong data governance, scalable architecture, and a unified enterprise data strategy.
The Team
The Data Services team is responsible for delivering enterprise data capabilities that enable reporting, analytics, and business intelligence across the organisation. Working collaboratively with architecture, application development, and business teams, the function designs, develops, and supports modern cloud-based data platforms while promoting engineering best practices, automation, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyse existing data assets and contribute to the design and implementation of an enterprise data platform.
- Design and develop dimensional data models within Snowflake to support enterprise reporting and analytics.
- Build, maintain, and optimise production-grade ELT/ETL processes using modern engineering practices.
- Develop scalable data transformation workflows with appropriate version control, testing, and documentation.
- Optimise Snowflake environments to improve performance and cost efficiency.
- Design and maintain data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) to ingest data from multiple source systems.
- Automate, schedule, and monitor data pipelines to ensure reliable and timely data availability.
- Implement and maintain Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), data masking, and security controls within Snowflake.
- Contribute to engineering standards, naming conventions, documentation, and CI/CD processes.
- Work with business stakeholders, analysts, and developers to support reporting and data platform initiatives.

Required Experience
- Strong experience in enterprise data engineering, data analysis, and data architecture.
- Experience designing enterprise data models, data dictionaries, metadata standards, and data taxonomies.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake administration, data modelling, and performance optimisation.
- Experience developing orchestration and ingestion pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Strong understanding of dimensional modelling, data warehousing, and modern cloud data platforms.
- Experience designing secure, scalable, and maintainable enterprise data solutions.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working within professional services, financial services, or other regulated environments would be advantageous.
