The Role

This role is for a Data Engineer, based in London/UK (remote option as well as hybrid). This role will report into the Lead Data Engineer, Client Services.

You’ll play a key role in developing and maintaining data pipelines, analytical datasets and calculations that underpin our audience and marketing intelligence offerings - helping clients better understand performance, reach an effectiveness across an increasingly complex media landscape.

The role will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining the data foundations behind client-facing marketing intelligence solutions, including robust data pipelines, clean analytical datasets and reliable calculation logic that support performance measurement, reporting and decision-making.

In this role, your key responsibilities will vary as we work on a project basis, problem-solving for clients on many different types of projects.

Examples of day-to-day work may include:

  • Designing, building and maintaining data pipelines using SQL and Python
  • Transforming raw data into clean, well-structured analytical datasets
  • Implementing and validating calculation and validation logic for performance metrics
  • Supporting the delivery of audience and marketing intelligence products used by clients on an ongoing basis
  • Working with cloud data platforms, primarily Azure and Snowflake
  • Collaborating with Associates and Consultants to ensure data structures support insight, reporting and storytelling
  • Troubleshooting data quality issues and improving reliability and performance of existing pipelines
  • Writing clear, maintainable code and documentation aligned to team standards
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of IaaS tools, templates and ways of working
  • Supporting effective project delivery by keeping task status, assumptions and blockers clearly communicated to the project lead, helping work stay on track against agreed timelines and priorities
  • Maintaining accurate timekeeping and contribute to efficient delivery by recording time promptly, working within agreed estimates, and flagging any risks to scope, effort or delivery profitability early

The Candidate

We are looking for a Data Engineer with strong SQL and Python skills who is comfortable working across the full data lifecycle- from ingestion and transformation through to analytical modelling and calculation logic. While this is primarily a data engineering role, it also requires an analytical mindset and comfort working with mathematical and statistical concepts.

This role is ideal for an ambitious data professional with 4-8 years’ experience who enjoys building robust data solutions while working closely with Associates with analytical skills and, media subject matter experts and clients to turn data into meaningful insight.

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • 4-8 years’ data engineering, analytics engineering or a closely related role
  • Strong SQL skills (essential)
  • Strong Python skills for data transformation and analysis
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms (Azure, Snowflake, AWS, GCP or similar)
  • Strong understanding of data modelling and transformation concepts
