Data Engineer
Financial Services
Location: Bristol, Leeds, Manchester or Edinburgh
Duration: 3 months initially (likely extension)
Rate: Up to £800 p/d inside IR35 (via umbrella)
The Role
Major Financial Services organisation looking for an experienced Data Engineer to build scalable data pipelines and knowledge solutions supporting an Enterprise Knowledge Base (EKB).
You'll work across data ingestion, enrichment, indexing and knowledge graphs, transforming enterprise data into searchable, governed and AI-consumable formats.

- Build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and SQL
- Work with BigQuery, Google Spanner, Neo4j and Vector Databases
- Design and implement Knowledge Graphs
- Develop enterprise search, indexing and retrieval capabilities
- Build data models, metadata and enrichment processes
- Implement event-driven and real-time data architectures
- Ensure data quality, governance, lineage and traceability
- Optimise platform performance and scalability
Key Requirements
- Strong commercial Data Engineering experience
- Strong Python and SQL
- Experience with BigQuery, Spanner and/or similar cloud data platforms
- Hands-on Neo4j / Knowledge Graph experience
- Experience with Vector Databases, Search or Indexing
- Strong understanding of data modelling and governance
- Experience supporting AI, LLM or RAG use cases
