Data Operations Engineer | Buy-Side
📍 London – candidates must already be based locally

Hiring for a leading buy-side firm in London, looking for a Data Operations Engineer to join a collaborative Data Engineering & Operations team.
The role sits at the intersection of data engineering, reliability, and operations, with a strong focus on improving how data platforms are monitored and operated.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own and enhance data monitoring, observability, and operational processes
- Identify recurring issues and build solutions to improve reliability and efficiency
- Work closely with Data Engineers across a combined team of ~15
- Automate operational workflows and continuously improve existing processes

Looking for:
- Strong Python and SQL
- Previously needs to be working in a Finance company.
- Experience with data monitoring/observability and a good understanding of monitoring methodologies
- Exposure to technologies such as Pandas, Snowflake, Iceberg, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Proactive, high-energy mindset — someone comfortable having strong opinions and constructively challenging existing processes
- Collaborative approach and genuine interest in making systems better
