Why Join Us

At Arcus, we're investing in our data platform and building the foundations that enable smarter decisions, better insights, and continued business growth. We're looking for a talented Data Engineer to join our Software Development team and help shape the future of our cloud-based data environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys building scalable data solutions, working with modern AWS technologies, and solving complex data challenges. You'll play a key role in developing reliable data pipelines and lakehouse platforms that support analytics, reporting, and decision-making across the business.

Although this role allows for primarily remote working, there is a requirement to attend the Redditch office at least once a month.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Data Engineer, you'll design, develop, and maintain cloud-native data solutions that ensure data is accurate, accessible, and trusted.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Designing and developing scalable data pipelines using Python and PySpark
  • Building and optimising data workflows using AWS Glue, Athena, Redshift, and related AWS services
  • Supporting modern lakehouse architectures, including Apache Iceberg
  • Working with relational and NoSQL databases to ensure data is reliable and fit for purpose
  • Collaborating with analysts, engineers, product owners, and stakeholders within an Agile environment
  • Troubleshooting data issues, improving pipeline performance, and supporting production systems
  • Maintaining technical documentation and contributing to engineering best practice

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
