Director of Product Engineering

£150,000

This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing AI business at a pivotal stage of its growth. You'll be responsible for building a scalable Product Engineering function, leading multidisciplinary technical teams whilst helping transform bespoke client delivery into repeatable, enterprise-grade products. The role offers significant autonomy, executive exposure and the chance to help shape the future direction of the business.

Working with organisations across Financial Services, Insurance, Retail and Healthcare, they combine Data Science, AI and Engineering to solve complex customer growth challenges. The Role

  • Lead teams across Data Science, Data Engineering, Platform Engineering and Application Development
  • Build a repeatable and scalable Engineering function capable of supporting continued growth
  • Own technical solution design, architecture, quality standards and production readiness across products
  • Work closely with enterprise clients and senior stakeholders to deliver AI and analytics solutions
  • Drive the transition from bespoke client projects towards reusable platform capabilities
  • Remain technically involved through architecture reviews, problem solving and delivery support
  • Develop team capability through leadership, mentoring, hiring and engineering best practice

Your Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience leading Data Engineering, Data Science and broader Product Engineering teams
  • Strong background within consultancy, services or client-facing environments
  • Experience building, scaling or transforming technical functions
  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms, engineering best practices and architecture
  • Experience working with first-party customer data and customer analytics solutions
  • Technical credibility with the ability to get hands-on when required
  • Previous management experience leading teams of 5+ people across multiple disciplines
  • Experience with Azure, Microsoft Fabric, AI or enterprise analytics platforms would be advantageous
