Your Career

As a Data Engineer at MHR, you'll join a supportive team where you'll develop hands-on experience with modern cloud and data technologies while learning from experienced engineers. You'll gain exposure to Azure, SQL, Python, data pipelines, and database operations, receiving mentoring and training to help you grow into a fully-fledged Data Engineer.

Your Team

You'll work closely with Data Engineers, Software Engineers, Operations, and Support teams to help deliver reliable, scalable data solutions that support our products and customers.

As part of an Agile engineering environment, you'll collaborate across teams, gain exposure to real-world data challenges, and contribute to the stability and performance of our data platforms while building your technical expertise.

Your Impact

As a Data Engineer, you'll help support and enhance our data platforms by monitoring databases, troubleshooting data issues, and contributing to data validation and deployment activities. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll build hands-on experience with Azure, SQL, and modern data engineering practices while developing the skills needed to progress your career in data engineering.

Key Skills

  • SQL and relational database fundamentals
  • Understanding of data structures and database concepts
  • Microsoft Azure fundamentals
  • Basic Python programming
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Good organisation and time management
  • Understanding of Agile ways of working
  • Ability and enthusiasm to learn new technologies

Desirable

  • Experience with Azure services such as Azure SQL, Storage Accounts, or Azure Functions
  • Understanding of data pipelines and orchestration concepts
  • Exposure to APIs and data integrations
  • Awareness of DevOps and CI/CD practices
  • Experience investigating data quality or database issues
