What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • Experience testing and validating data pipelines to ensure data accuracy, quality and reliability.
  • Good understanding of data modelling principles and industry best practices.
  • Experience developing BI and MI solutions, including dashboards and self-service analytics using Power BI or similar tools.
  • Ability to gather, interpret and communicate business requirements with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience using data mining and code analysis techniques to assure data quality and resolve issues.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Fusion reporting tools, including FDI/AIDP and OTBI, or equivalent enterprise reporting platforms.

You'll play a key role in developing and supporting reporting and analytics solutions that provide trusted insights to almost a quarter of a million users across multiple government departments.

Working with Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI/AIDP), Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI) and other modern cloud technologies, you'll design, build and maintain reporting products, data pipelines, datasets and integrations that deliver trusted management information and actionable insights.

You'll collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs, translate requirements into effective reporting solutions and support the delivery of scalable, reusable products. You'll also contribute across the full reporting development lifecycle, including design, testing, deployment, maintenance and continuous improvement.

Using your problem-solving skills and attention to detail, you'll help ensure data quality, reliability and performance, while applying engineering standards and testing practices throughout the development process.

As part of a supportive and inclusive team, you'll work alongside reporting and data professionals, share knowledge, embrace new technologies and help drive improvements that enhance services for colleagues and customers across government.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home (40%) and some time collaborating face to face in a hub (60%).

Pay: We offer competitive pay for this role of up to £54,813.

Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, worth over £12,876 per year.

Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time. You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time. You'll also get all the usual public holidays.
