The Role
You'll design, build and maintain the data pipelines and infrastructure that turn raw data into reliable, usable insight. You'll work closely with analysts, data scientists and product teams, and you'll have room to grow your skills, whether you're early in your career or already have a few years under your belt.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from multiple sources
- Write clean, efficient SQL and Python to transform and model data
- Develop and optimise data warehouse structures (e.g. star schemas, data marts)
- Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot data quality issues
- Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to understand data needs
- Document data flows, definitions and processes
- Contribute to best practices in testing, version control and CI/CD
- Support data governance and security, including UK GDPR compliance

What We're Looking For
Essential
- 0 to 4 years' experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, software engineering or a similar role (graduates and career changers with strong projects are welcome)
- Solid SQL skills
- Working knowledge of Python (or a similar language such as Scala or Java)
- Understanding of data modelling and relational databases
- Familiarity with Git and version control
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills, able to explain technical ideas to non-technical colleagues

Desirable
- Experience with a cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Exposure to tools such as Airflow, dbt, Spark, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks or Kafka
- Experience with CI/CD, Docker or infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform)
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
