We work with the companies that are Britain’s economic engine – ambitious, entrepreneurially-spirited and high growth businesses that fuel the economy - and directly advise the owners and management teams that lead them.

We’ll broaden your horizons

The Data Office partners with every part of the firm to help turn data into a strategic asset. We govern, enable and empower the use of data, helping colleagues make better decisions, deliver stronger client outcomes and drive sustainable growth. Through trusted data foundations, value-focused data products, and the skills and confidence to use them effectively, we’re transforming the way BDO works with data. Join us, and you'll be part of a team that's helping to empower everyone at BDO with data.

We’ll help you succeed

Leading organisations trust us because of the quality of our advice. That quality grows from a thorough understanding of their business, and that understanding comes from working closely with them and building long-lasting relationships.

You’ll be someone who is both comfortable working pro-actively and managing your own tasks, as well as confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with senior managers, directors, and BDO’s partners to help businesses effectively. You’ll be encouraged to identify and draw attention to opportunities for enhancing our delivery and providing additional services to organisations we work with.

With the new focus of the Data Office Team to deliver and support a cloud centric data analytics service, the Data Engineer will be responsible for the delivery of the data platform that will underpin the production of data analytics solutions. This role sits within the IT Data Office Team and will play a vital part in the delivery of the emerging BDO Data and Analytics Strategy.

Collaborating with cross functional teams such as Data Analysts, Solution Architects and end users across BDO, the Data Engineer will be instrumental in delivering data warehousing technology that aligns with the data and analytics strategy as well as the overall IT strategy. You’ll be working with the latest on-premises and cloud-based technology solutions following Agile and DevOps methodologies in the delivery of data engineering solutions.

Reporting to the Data Engineering Manager, the Data Engineer will play a key role in the management and delivery to the newly established Data and Analytics Programme. It is also their responsibility to influence the overall design of the Data Architecture ensuring that structure and content of the data warehouse not only meets the needs of the business but is also delivered in a supportable and cost effective way.

They will act as the primary resource and subject matter expert on data integration, ETL, data warehouse management and will set and maintain standards and development best practices in these domains.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
