Data Engineer
Up to £55,000 + bonus
Manchester (Hybrid)
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join a private equity-backed organisation that is investing heavily in its data and technology capabilities as part of a wider business transformation. This is an exciting opportunity to join at the beginning of a greenfield data journey, helping to design and build a modern enterprise data platform that will underpin analytics, reporting and decision-making across the business.
Working within a growing data function, you will play a key role in developing scalable data solutions, establishing best practices and delivering high-quality datasets that support strategic initiatives. You will gain exposure to modern technologies including Microsoft Fabric and have the opportunity to influence both technical direction and the future data landscape of the organisation.

Responsibilities
- Design, build and optimise scalable data pipelines and data integration solutions
- Develop and maintain robust ETL processes to support analytics and reporting requirements
- Work with stakeholders across the business to understand data requirements and deliver effective solutions
- Help establish and maintain modern data architecture and engineering best practices
- Build and manage trusted, production-ready datasets within a cloud-based data platform
- Support the implementation and adoption of Microsoft Fabric technologies
- Ensure data quality, reliability and performance across the data estate
- Collaborate with internal teams to support ongoing data transformation initiatives

Skills and Experience
- Previous experience working as a Data Engineer within modern cloud data environments
- Strong hands-on experience with PySpark and SQL
- Experience designing and building production-grade data pipelines
- Knowledge and practical experience of Microsoft Fabric
- Experience working with Delta Lake and Lakehouse architectures
- Strong understanding of data transformation and data modelling principles
