Job Title

Reporting to the Data Manager, you’ll help design, build and improve the data platforms and infrastructure that support financial and operational insight across the business.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work with data from multiple systems and sources, often with varying levels of structure, consistency and quality. Using technologies including Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Python, SQL and Power BI, you’ll build reliable, scalable and maintainable data solutions.

You’ll be involved in significant technology and transformation projects, developing and enhancing data pipelines, integrating new data sources, troubleshooting technical issues and improving the performance and reliability of existing solutions.

If you enjoy solving problems, working with modern cloud data technologies and seeing the direct impact of your work within a fast-moving business, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Data Engineer, you will:

  • Design, build and operate ELT/ETL data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric
  • Design and develop data solutions within a Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver and Gold)
  • Develop, optimise and maintain complex SQL queries to support reporting and analytics
  • Integrate data from a variety of internal and external sources
  • Manage and optimise lakehouses, warehouses and associated storage
  • Implement data quality, testing and observability processes to ensure data is accurate, reliable and compliant
  • Support data lineage and ensure stakeholders can trust the information available to them
  • Enable self-service analytics through well-documented data models and transformation logic
  • Monitor performance and proactively identify opportunities to improve our data infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot incidents, complete root-cause analysis and deploy effective fixes
  • Contribute to CI/CD practices, documentation and engineering standards
  • Work closely with colleagues across IT and the wider business to deliver fit-for-purpose data solutions
  • Continuously look for opportunities to improve our technology, processes and ways of working

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
