About The Role
The Data Engineer Programme at Newto Training is an entry-level, self-funded career development initiative designed for individuals aspiring to enter the data industry. This programme provides participants with a structured pathway to acquire essential data skills, industry-recognised certifications, and practical experience through real-world projects. The role is ideal for those with little or no prior experience in data engineering or related fields who are eager to learn and develop their careers in data management and analysis. Upon successful completion, participants are equipped to secure roles with starting salaries of up to £40,000, supported by our job guarantee scheme. The programme combines live instructor-led training, hands-on project work, and personalized career support to ensure learners are job-ready and confident in their abilities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities
Participants in the Data Engineer Programme will undertake a variety of learning activities and practical projects designed to develop core skills in data management and analysis. Responsibilities include:
- Attending live instructor-led sessions
- Completing coursework
- Engaging in hands-on project work using tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, and PowerBI
- Preparing for and passing three industry-recognised certifications: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst (PL-300), Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900), and Microsoft Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-901)
- Receiving support from dedicated tutors who provide one-on-one coaching, feedback, and guidance
- Preparing professional CVs, practicing interview techniques, and receiving career coaching to enhance employability
- Applying new skills to real-world data projects
- Demonstrating certifications and engaging with the employer network to secure suitable employment opportunities
