Join a major global energy and commodities organisation as a Senior Data Engineer

Helping to build the data foundations and analytics products that improve decision-making across crude, products, and supply-and-demand trading.

You will work on a strategic cloud-based data and analytics programme focused on turning complex market, refinery, maintenance, and capacity data into timely, actionable insights for trading and business stakeholders.

The role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, build, and improve end-to-end data solutions. You will act as a technical subject-matter expert, translate data strategy into deliverable IT solutions, and help embed data-driven ways of working across both technology and business teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop scalable data pipelines, integrations, and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Build robust ELT processes for ingesting, transforming, validating, and serving data.
  • Create and maintain logical and physical data models to support analytics and reporting.
  • Develop solutions that replace manual, spreadsheet-based processes with reliable data products and modern visualisation capabilities.
  • Work closely with data analysts, business stakeholders, product teams, and technical delivery teams to turn requirements into practical solutions.
  • Improve data quality, lineage, documentation, governance, and operational resilience.
  • Support incident, problem, and change-management processes for data products and platforms.
  • Present technical designs, findings, and delivery updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering communities of practice and centres of excellence.
  • Drive efficient delivery across pilots and future initiatives, balancing pace, quality, cost, and business value.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
