About the Role
As a Data Engineer at Tecknuovo, you will design, build and maintain reliable data solutions that enable our customers to make better use of their data. Working as part of multidisciplinary delivery teams, you will turn complex requirements into scalable data pipelines, platforms and integrations that are secure, maintainable and built for long-term use. You will work closely with engineers, architects, analysts and customer stakeholders, contributing hands-on technical expertise while transferring knowledge and capability so customer teams can confidently own and evolve the solutions we build together.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and processing solutions that reliably move and transform data across customer environments.
- Deliver robust ETL/ELT processes and integrations across structured, semi-structured and unstructured data sources.
- Build and evolve cloud-based data platforms, applying sound engineering judgement to performance, scalability, security and maintainability.
- Develop effective data models that make data accessible and usable for analytics, reporting and operational use cases.
- Embed data quality, validation, monitoring and observability so issues can be identified and resolved quickly.
- Apply strong software engineering practices, including version control, automated testing, CI/CD and infrastructure as code, to create dependable and repeatable solutions.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand problems, challenge assumptions where needed and translate requirements into practical data solutions.
- Contribute to technical design decisions, engineering standards and continuous improvement across the delivery team.
- Troubleshoot complex data and platform issues, taking ownership through to resolution and communicating clearly with the people affected.
- Document solutions and share knowledge with customer teams and colleagues, building capability and supporting Tecknuovo’s zero-dependency approach.

Who You Are and How You’ll Make an Impact
You are a hands-on Data Engineer with demonstrable experience delivering data solutions using Databricks or Snowflake, alongside AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms. You will have experience delivering new data lake patterns or helping to transform existing data lake environments, with a strong understanding of how to build scalable, secure and maintainable data solutions. You will also bring practical experience of data replication and change data capture (CDC) technologies within large, complex environments. Strong engineering fundamentals are important, including experience with Python and SQL, data pipelines, ETL/ELT, data modelling and cloud-based data platforms.
You are able to work through ambiguity, understand the outcome a customer is trying to achieve and make pragmatic technical decisions rather than simply following predefined tasks. You communicate technical concepts clearly, collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and take ownership of the quality and reliability of what you build. Experience with common enterprise database products, such as Oracle, would be advantageous. You also understand that successful delivery includes leaving teams with the knowledge, documentation and confidence to continue without unnecessary dependency on Tecknuovo.

A Day in the Life
Your day might start with a delivery stand-up, reviewing progress and working through any data or platform issues with the wider team. You could then spend time developing or improving a data pipeline, refining a data model, testing an integration or investigating the performance and quality of an existing solution. Later, you may work with an architect, analyst or customer stakeholder to understand a new requirement and agree the most appropriate technical approach. Alongside delivery, you will review code, document key decisions and share knowledge with the customer team so that the solutions being built are understood, maintainable and ready to be owned long term.
