Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer with strong Data Modelling expertise to design and build scalable data pipelines and models across data warehouse and graph paradigms. The role requires hands-on experience with the GCP data stack, BigQuery, Spanner, Airflow/Composer, GitLab, Terraform, and data governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and transformation workflows.
- Build data models across data warehouse and graph architectures.
- Develop and manage Airflow DAGs using Google Cloud Composer.
- Design and query BigQuery and SpannerDB schemas.
- Implement GitLab CI/CD pipelines and manage Terraform infrastructure.
- Apply data governance, metadata, data quality, and IAM practices.
- Work with Pub/Sub for event-driven data processing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and translate business requirements into data models and engineering solutions.

Required Skills
- Advanced SQL & BigQuery – CTEs, UDFs, window functions, arrays/structs, partitioning, clustering, query optimization.
- Dataform for SQL-based modelling and transformations.
- Python for data engineering.
- Strong data modelling – conceptual, logical, physical, dimensional, SCD, time-series, normalization/denormalization.
- Airflow / Google Cloud Composer – DAG development and orchestration.
- GCS (Google Cloud Storage) – storage, retention, and IAM.
- GitLab & CI/CD – branching, merging, repository and pipeline management.
- Terraform – IaC and GitLab integration.
- SpannerDB – schema design, querying, primary keys, indexes, and relational modelling.
- Pub/Sub and event-driven architecture.
- GraphQL experience.
- Knowledge of BigQuery GIS / GIS data is desirable.
- Telecommunications domain knowledge including network topology, KPIs, telemetry, and asset lifecycle.

Nice to Have
- Google Dataflow / Apache Beam
- Experience with graph databases/modeling.
- BigQuery Knowledge Catalog and data governance.
- Data Contracts and data quality frameworks.
