ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you will start your career in Data Engineering by working alongside experienced engineers on real-world data projects. You will support the development of modern cloud-based data platforms, learn industry best practices, and gain hands-on experience with data pipelines, cloud technologies, and software engineering while contributing to enterprise-scale data solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining automated data pipelines
  • Support the development of secure and reliable cloud-based data platforms
  • Write SQL queries to transform, validate, and analyze data
  • Help integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources
  • Monitor data quality and investigate data-related issues
  • Support testing, deployment, and maintenance of data engineering solutions
  • Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to understand business and technical requirements
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for data pipelines and data solutions
  • Participate in the software development lifecycle, including implementation, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement
  • Learn and apply engineering best practices, including version control, cloud technologies, and data governance

REQUIREMENTS

  • GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent)
  • Interest in Data Engineering, cloud technologies, and software development
  • Basic understanding of SQL or relational databases
  • Familiarity with Python or another programming language is an advantage
  • Understanding of data, databases, or analytics concepts is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Enthusiasm for building a career in Data Engineering and modern cloud technologies
